How can I trade plate HGVs in the USA?
2 Answers
Some of you may know of the profession of trade plater, which is basically a driver who collects and delivers cars and vans all over the UK. I used to do this with cars some years ago, but the pay was stupidly low. I know have both a PCV and LGV Rigid licence, and would like to know how I can do this in either the UK, or the USA.
I understand that there is a chronic shortage of LGV drivers, both in this country, and across the pond, so hopefully I may strike lucky in one country.
Thanks for any sensible replies, ABers.

To be a Trade Player in the USA you would need a "Green Card",which is basically a work permit.
There are many, many applications for these to US Immigration from all over the World.
Therefore, all names are put in to the "Green Card Lottery"
and drwn out at random.
Now the bad news, the UK is not one of the countries that the US includes in the lottery!
So,unless you can get a company in the USA to offer you a job, then you won't be Trade Plating over there.
Sorry.
