tiling the outside dormer
pls can someone advise me as to what type of roof tiles,
would be used, i dnt like the idea of using clading as my
builder wants me to. i live in a 3 bedroom terrace hse and we have had a front and back dormer made, THANKS in advance.

If you do something out of character it will look dreadful.
That will very likley impact the value of your house when you come to sell (though that may not be important to you).
I'm surprised your planning permission doesn't force you to use matching - then again the rules have got so diluted that you probably didn't need PP if this is loft conversion.
Your builder wants to put wood up there because it is cheaper. Wood needs occasional painting - how are you going to do that in future? - extra future costs are being built-in.
