40th birthday presents

It has come to that time in life where the next year sees my school year turn 40!

Already there are planned parties and weekends away, so its going to be a very expensive year - on both my bank account and liver!!!

Any ideas on presents for my closest friends that wont cost me the earth?

since no-one else has come up with good ideas.......

As part of my sister's 40th present, I found out what was the no1 single on the day she was born and then bought the original 45 single off ebay. It only cost a few quid-like I say it was only part of a number of pressies, but it's an idea.

Make your own ..... When I was 21 one of my penniless friends got an empty wine bottle and inside wrote a letter to me about all the good times we'd had. You could maybe adapt it....
