I was disppointed, there seemed to be no chemistry between any of the characters, but you'll have to judge for yourself Bobby.
I liked it as it told the full story, and not the cropped version that the films show
A contrary view - I'm a huge fan of the book and thought it was the best adaptation I've ever seen. Each to his own...!

I agree with Quizmonkey I found it powerful and certainly worth the watch and very well cast too.

Watched it last night, I'm with Robinia, no chemistry between Cathy & Heathcliffe. Not a patch on the original film version with Merle Oberon, Lawrence Olivier & David Niven.
It seems a lot of people felt there was something missing Bobby. Oh now you've done it, I love David Niven & that version is available on DVD, I think it's going to be old films on my [dare I say it?] Christmas list.

well...the actors who played heathcliffe and cathy are partners in real life so i think there was some chemistry there!!
"Something missing"?? You mean like the second half of the book as in all the previous adaptations? No novel can ever be adapted into three hours of purely audiovisual treatment. Something has to go - and that something will always be subjective. I thought the leads in this version were superb and their struggles with the destructive power of the love they felt very believable.
