Nor do I Mrs Chappie. Anyone who talked to her over a period of time would understand. She was in tremendous pain as the disease progressed and she suffered terribly. She said she had no one close so its not surprising that her posts just stopped.

Max of course you are entitled to your opinion. But knowing nothing about Gelda or her situation, or her friends, your comments are equally as insensitive as those you accused Sqad of, and by inference the rest of the people who cared about her.

Gelda suffered cancer and this site got a blow by blow account of her suffering......type 'answerbank, gelda' into Google.

I only joined AB in March of this year but did speak to Gelda on a few occasions - she told me she had delayed her visit to the Doctors on the first signs of breast cancer because her husband was very ill at that time, I think she said she had left it 2 years before seeking help.

Not sure if she had family, children etc but if she has indeed passed away, I pray to God she was not alone and had loving people around her.

Sigh..Shutzengal, I did nothing wrong in stating that I thought the comment made by Sqad was insensitive.

I spoke to Gelda myself (via here) several times and agree that was a lovely, brave woman. How you can interpret what I said as in anyway as insensitive as the crass comment made by Sqad is totally beyond me.

To be honest I'm actually quite offended that you've somehow got it into your head that anyone on this thread is somehow making a mockery of your post.

In future, if you really wish to address one person and one person only, may I suggest you email them personally instead of posting on a public forum?

Boo. If you read through the comments again, you will see that I never passed any comment at all on what you had posted. The remark I made about insensitivity was addressed to Max. Sorry if you misunderstood and thought the comment was directed at you.

I really don't see how my post was insensitive in the sense Sqad's thread was. I reiterate: I found it incredibly crass and was quite shocked by it. I have read Gelda's posts too, but unless anyone is directly involved in her life, I can't see how one can just declare her dead simply because she was very ill and hasn't posted for a while. I'd have no problem at all with someone coming on here to announce that an aber has passed away, as long as they have proof and aren't just making conjectures based on that person's online activity, or lack of.
Nevermind, neither of us is going to change their mind about this. Night!
