Does anyone just offer simple gas supply where you pay a single rate for however many cubic feet you use instead of one rate for the first so many units and another for the next lot, and both of them in kilowatt hours when the meter's in Cubic Feet?

I can't understand how they manage to make something so simple so complicated:

How much gas, how much electricity, price for one, price for the other, multiply them together and add up. Simples.

The term for what these companies do is obfuscation. (Definition: To deliberately make more confusing in order to conceal the truth)
In this waythey can all claim to be offering a great deal and hope no-one ever works out the truth.
