usb stick damage

help shut usb stick in door although it doesnt look damaged when i put it in the port it heats up and isnt being recognised. Help is there any way i can get the data off. thank-you:-)

No, and if you leave it plugged in, you risk damaging your computer as well.

agree, heats up isn't exactly a good sign, surprised your USB ports haven't at best, turned themselves off to protect themselves yet!, at worst, fried themselves!

Shut in a door is physical damage, if you know somebody good with a very small soldering iron it might be a simple broken track/connection in the stick and could be repaired.... but realistically it's dead, hope it wasn't the only copy of the data!
