Overheating problems (laptop)
8 Answers
I have a Acer laptop which has had Vista swapped for XP. Since then, the fan has not been switching in and this leads to overheating, and the laptop switching off!! When I switch it on again the fan runs and blows hot air out for some while. Eventually the same process starts again and again. I have tried to blow the dust out of the fan but there doesnt seem to be any. Could the problem be that XP is not talking to my computers fan?? Any help in fixing the problem would be a great help. Many thanks in advance.

My Toshiba used to get very hot (but not to the point of switching off) and also very noisy, but once I'd used the vacuum cleaner for the 1st time (having owned the laptop for more than 2 years). it has thereafter behaved properly, no noise and doesn't get hot.

O dear me!! Can anyone assist? I am tring to update my chipset driver on this acer 5315 and any drivers that may help my problem! My main problem at this stage is confusion!!! I keep trying links to drivers and just find free trial stuff, and register now stuff!! All I want is to access Acers drivers which I am finding a bit tricky at the mo.
Many many thanks in advance.

Always get drivers straight from the horses mouth, in this case, from Acer.
