May I add here apologies to a couple of Q'ers to whom I responded that this referred to a cricket pitch - it was all I could think of at the time & I suddenly thought of rugby last night! Or am I now confusing...

thank you i have to say it is diabolical using numbers i had not thought to use actual numbers by the way is the 18 down thrums and if so why i can't see ho weaving has anything to do with it or fish paste

goodness me that is slang tarama from taramasalata i have never heard of anyone ordering tarama i wonder what the telegraph is turning into perhaps they are dumbing down
