vets ruling body?

i am just about to go into battle with the vets we use for our dog.the tablets my dog is on can be bought much cheaper online.according to what i read,the vet is obliged to give me a prescription for the tablets.however,if they drag their heels i wanted to know if there is a sort of ruling body for vets.a bit like the general medical council.thank you

our vets changed their charging structure when theb prescription thing came out. Before they had, they admit, charged less for the consultations and more for the drugs etc, they now charge the market rate for consumables and have raised their consultation rates accordingly, although post op checks re still included in the op price and other post consultation checks are still free.
