it's not a crossword or quiz but i'm looking for where I can find prices of things in 1984 for a silver wedding speech- e.g. beer, cinema ticket, petrol etc etc etc

pop into your local library and ask to see the archive newspapers they usually have them on file or if not could point you in the right direction. Good luck with the speech

In card shops you can often find cards which are for the year someone was born, these often have these sort of things on the list of things from that particular year.
