As long as you don't hold back Elvis!
As a judge, it has to be Simon, who is as close to a 'real audition' judge as the show gets, allowing for its format as entertainment.
As Simon says - a lot of contestants in a formal audirtion process would not even get to sing - they would be sent off as soon as they walk on because they look wrong - being a pop star is as much about presentation asi it is about the song.
Simon says it how it is - which any budding pop star needs to hear - and get used to if they are going to progress at all. If I was able to get the opinion of the MD of BMG Records for free - I'd listen. If you are any good, SC is interested, because he needs to find new talent, if you can't sing, do something else. A dream is no substitute for ability.
I like Cheryl because she is human enough to sympethise with the emotional ones, and feisty enough to bite back if she gets any sarcastic comments - witness -
Contestant tro Cheryl - "Hat do you know about it?
Cheryl (instant response) - "Eighteen Top Ten singles, thats what I know about it!)
And she's got dimples ...
And fabulous legs ...
And a Geordie accent ...
Sorry, I'm going off the point aren't I?
I'll stop now.
And those eyes ....
