I am trying to identify this bug which I saw in South Eastern Ireland.
Has anyone got any idea what it might be?
Thanks.

The six-spot burnet moth
I'm sorry I don't know what it is , but it is a very handsome bug.

Thanks so much gen2. I spotted (excuse the pun) this one near a beach when I was on holidays in the south of Ireland. A few days later I saw my dog sniffing at one of them in our campervan. Shortly after, I had to take my dog to a vet as she was experiencing a serious allergic reaction.
I read that the six-spot burnet moth contains cyanide and was wondering if you thought it might have caused her problems?
