Is it a bite?

My mum felt a really sharp prick in the crease of her right arm an when she's looked a second later it's bruised an a lump the size of an eggs come up .... Has she been bit do u think? She was sat in the car with her coat on when it happend. As this happend to any of you? :-) x

the signs are certainly pointing that way, aren't they? Might have been an ant, maybe? (Especially if there was rain coming on - they get quite nippy.)

Has she had a good look through her clothes as some spiders can give a nasty bite in thin skin areas like the crook of the arms or under armpits. I heard on The One Show that some Black Widow spiders are getting into the UK so if the swelling has got worse I suggest she goes to the hospital asap.

Thanks Carlton23 :-) turns out she trapped her arm in a chair at her evening class but because it didn't hurt much she didn't think owt , then got back to the car an that's when it's stung ( silly billy) the swelling as gone down.. Thanks again :-) x
