what are the chances?????

i help run a local playgroup in the area, we are using a old porta cabin within a school area however its run by myself and another parent. We dont get any funding or payments for running however the parents each pay a £1 each session towards the cost of paint, paper etc. Its looking a bit dated now and shabby so we would like to decorate it and update the furniture etc. We are doing a few fundraising things within the next couple of weeks but we still dont expect to make enough to cover the costs. were thinking of writing to a few companies to ask if they can possibly donate anything but was wondering what are the chances of them helping out? Has anyone done this before and what was the resonce you got? thanks

I was the chairperson of my kids playgroup many years ago now and did just that. I contacted all the local companies for donations and 95% of them donated. with the goods they gave us we used to have regular market stalls at our small local market. Great fun and we raised a lot of money for new equipment. All the other suggestions are excellent as well, so I would approach as many organisations as you can. all the Mums used to bake and make bread and we used to sell that for a regular little income.
Good luck xx
