How do I start to track down a lost relative?
Hello
I have found out that I have two half brothers, I know their names and that's about it!
Know an area where they might be living.
Could anyone offer me any advice on where I could start?
Unfortunately I have no living relatives.
Thank You

One word of caution, as long as these two half-brothers are over 16 you should be ok to seek them out and make contact, if they are not, you may not be able to make direct contact.
could you provide a little more background? Dates/ages and places is fine, we could point you in a more definate direction then.

What about Facebook? Might they be on there? And try Genesreunited ... it's for people researching family history but some of the family trees listed there do contain living relatives too ...... do you want ot tell us who you are looking for and where they might be? Someone on here might be able to help you?
I had a relative who lived in alabama by birmingham alabama i new his surname which was unusual so i looked up white pages on the internet and found 5 people in that area with that surname so i phoned one of them and guess what this person was the niece of the person who i was looking for.. sometimes its as easy as that.. so if you've got an unusual surname look in the phonebook and phone.. Alternatively if you know the area they may be living in get onto the local press in that area and see if they'de help you find them don't be shy about itjust ask them if they'de put a little artical in the paper asking if anyone knows the whereabout of brian and bill bloggs please contact this number.. best of luck..
Firstly try the local phone searches on the internet. Then try the local electoral register, then if you cannot get them send for the birth certs ,but you will need to know the exact quarter they were born in and then you can apply for a copy. This will show fathers/mothers names and where it was registered. As an expensive way of extending your tracing is to join ancestry.com, this will enable you to extend your tracing back to the 15th/16th century.. I found number og relatives like this. Also I traced an old friend via facebook, as it is free enroll on all these sites and them trawl through and hope.
