Is it the barracks in Woolwich?
I think it's on the east side of Farringdon road, but I forget who owns it. Long and thin, between the road and the railway lines.
I would say Houses of Parliament (Palace of Westminster)?

Apparently it used to be the Imperial War Museum, until the two end wings were demolished...?

If you haven'y got it yet, you're too late for the 'Where was I' competition. However, I believe it was the barracks at Woolwich.
