When I was younger my elderly aunt lived in our house and the night after her funeral I heard someone moving around in her room and I was alone in house at the time

i had a strange thing happen to me at home years ago.
i was alone one early evening watching tv in the front room,
all of a sudden the heaviest and loudest of footsteps came bounding down the stairs behind me in the hall, as though they were being taken two at a time...!!
next thing there was a loud heavy BANG BANG BANG, like someone hammering with their fists on the sealed up doorway at the bottom of the stairs, that connects the hall to the the living room...!!
it all sounded soooo loud and urgent...
the blood just drained from me, thinking what the !!!!?!!!!
i shot up to take a look, our dog jumped up too and stood by me and started really really barking with all his hackles up..
but noone was there... nothing....
the front door was still closed, so noone had ran down the stairs and quickly left ...
i was scared stiff to say the least, and im going cold even now just writing about it!
anyway, shortly after my mum and dad returned home and took a look upstairs, incase someone had got in through an open window or something..
but no.. nothing was disturbed attall ..
there was just no explanation whatsoever as to what it was..
and still, to this day i havent a clue ........
