pipe bowl thing

whats the name of the bowl or half a bowl where my sink and bath waste runs into on the outside wall of my house

thanks very much , is it ok to do away with the hopper and use a y type connector ?

Definitely Phil ................ hoppers aren't usually used these days anyway ..............
