Italian Soldiers from Afghanistan
My (Italian) husband is watching the Italian tv which has extensive coverage of the return of the six soldiers, killed in Afghanistan. As you probably heard on the news they are having a day of mourning and a minutes silence in their honour. Makes me feel we dont do very much for our soldiers who return from Afghanistan in coffins. All such a waste of life. I think the Italians will have the sense to get out before we do somehow.

It probably would be easier for Italy to "get out" before the UK for the simple fact that they are "less in" - 3000 troops compared to 9000.
Nu Labour honour the returning soldiers? The PM (both Brown and Blair) could not even bring themselves to publicly announce and pay tribute to the troops in a timely fashion upon hearing of their deaths. They both opt to wait until the opening minutes of PMQs each Wednesday noon in Parliament to make such an announcement. What are the odds of an appearance by these luminaries in Wootton Basset?
