GHDs no doubt.  They are 100 a pair but worth it!
Question Author

where would i buy them?  And are they all called GHD's?

Does that stand for good hair day??

thx

GHD's ceramic ones. My g/f uses those ones, knew listening to her babble on would pay off sometime!
There was a time when i would have agreed, however, after using Wet 2 Straight I would never go back. My hair is naturally very curly, quite long (middle of back) and quite thick, not to mention highlighted (so not ideal for heat stylers) anyway Wet 2 Straight not only do what they say, my hair stays straight until I wash it, which is usually 4 to 5 days after. My hair has always worked with other straightners but if I get hot and bothered i.e. doing housework or running about or even clubbing, the heat would just make my hair go wavy again - but was well impressed that with W2S  it stayed as I styled it... no exaggeration.  I do use straightening balm as well and now you can buy protection oil and stuff if you use them alot but then Ive always have. The other bonus is that they are cheaper to buy than GHD - but some people will probably say that you shouldnt straighten from wet but any heat styling is bad for your hair - you just have to treat it well!!

meant to add as well - you can buy them here for 20 discount.... a bonus!!

p.s. the other reason I find them fab is that my hair is much more manageable when wet, so they were ideal... my friend however has just a kink in her hair so only needs the basic straightener....

im a nutter... here's the link

Sorry Mowbray, it does indeed stand for Good Hair Day and they make a few different types.  You can buy them in salons or there are a few places on the internet one of which is:

Thanks for your help nicola_red!!

Have a nice weekend!!

GHD without a doubt! No questions, an absolute no brainer - I wish they made EVERYTHING in life! Enjoy.
GHD's!!  I don't know how I ever lived without them - they always make sure you have a good hair day!  (just don't use them everyday!)
Sorry guys, but as a hairdresser, I paid 13 for a pair of solid ceramic straightners made by Prolectrix from Superdrug, and they are the dogs nads.  I do not believe paying 100 for a pair of GHD is worth it. It is just a name.  These ones I am talking about are excellent, have 4 different heat settings and heat upto 210c. Which is all you really need.

I have bought the prolectrix ones from E-bay and they really are greaty, just as good as the GHD my hairdresser uses.

i got my girlfriend a pair of fransen futura straighteners and she said they are the best she`s ever had.
