After a few days of slight toothache when I drunk anything cold or hot I was able to see my dentist. This was on monday. It turns out I have an abcess under my double tooth at the back so he gave me ome antibiotics. I am allergic to Penicillin so have Erythromycin tablets. Taking four each day. But my tooth is still aching and swollen, under chin and side of face. Would this mean the tablets are not working or should it be ok as last tablets tommorow.?

You may need more than one course of tablets to settle the problem. My last abscess needed two different antibiotics at the same time to get rid of the infection,I wound up in hospital because the infection spread from the tooth to my jaw.
