if a couple from the uk are engaged and live in the usa and get married, then the guy gets a green card through his job, the wife will then get one automatically i hear. if however, the couple get divorced, can the ex wife still remain in the usa? is there a period of time to be married before divorcing to keep the green card?
also if a uk woman has a baby in the usa, does this automatically give her residency because that child will have u.s citizenship?

I don't think that the wife automatically gets a green card as I remember after ~September 11th there were some British wives living in the US whose British husbands had been killed in the twin towers and they were given 3 months to leave the US. They challenged this as their children had been born or brought up in the US and were attending schools there. I think that these women were given a special right to stay.
