I say to those on this site who have no respect for our brave lads, that is those who say they are only in the Army because they didn't get enough academic passes on leaving school, I say look at these photos and can you still say that you do not have the highest regard for these heroes?
Bits of worthless paper, and a chance to spend their lives behind a desk pen pushing, are of no attraction for these guys, they are made of much more sterner stuff.
Can any of you out there, not be envious of their complete dedication and the comradeship between them, is there be such comradeship to be found in the 'Rat eat Rat' civilian world?

Quinlad, Still at your game of telling damn right lies, false accusations, over assuming, cynicism, and generally being completely up the shoot.
It matters not if one has been a serviceman, to be supportive of them. I have not been either a policeman, a fireman, a para-medic or a member of any other such public service, but I support every one of them not only because perhaps one day I may have need of the expertise, but I also admire them for their complete dedication to the work they do.

Your words:
You seem to actively resent any benefit, goodwill, favour, or priority aimed at just about every other group.
These include:

What a load of cods wallop, I notice that you always use the two words "YOU SEEM", this goes to show that most of your statements that begin with these two words, are just your assumption, and bear no resemble in anyway to the truth.
But still let's take them one at a time, shall we?
Women, I have been married to one for 54 years, and still love her just as much (if not more), than i did when I first met her. I also respect most other women, providing they are not those who also want to be men.
Gays, I have nothing against them, if this is the way they are born, providing they don't expect me to condone their life style, ie Gay Pride Marches etc.
Young people, This is a ridiculous statement to make, it is only certain young people, just as certain old persons who tend to leave much to be desired. name me anyone else who thinks differently?
Immigrants, One again this covers a wide range, providing that they are legal immigrants and are prepared to fit in w

Once again the need for a preview button
Here is the rest of my post:
Immigrants, One again this covers a wide range, providing that they are legal immigrants and are prepared to fit in with the country that they have chose to settle in, and are prepared to contribute positivity, then that's fine.
Non-Whites, No one has any control over the colour of the skin they were born with, White, Black, Sky Blue Pink, it is they way they conduct themselves that matters.
Muslims, Must admit this is a bit of a shady area. Is it the person or their religion that's under discussion? I don't like they way they are trying to turn our country into a carbon copy of the Middle East, I don't like the fact that each one of them could at anytime, try and blow us up etc, etc.
Gypsies, Not had much dealings with them, but once again it is their life style that goes against them.
Students, Nothing at all wrong with students, without the end product where would we be. Far too much emphasis these days, of some taking the easy way out of joining the harsh working world out there, hence the rather lapse lifestyle of such a student, and the end product of a degree that is not worth the paper it's written on.

I think it is an over-simplification to suggest that people sign up to the forces when the country is at war on two fronts are looking for an exciting life - as your post appears tio imply AOG.
Looking for an exciting life??????
How you came to this conclusion from my post, are you sure you are not getting my post mixed up with one of jake-the-peg's answers?
ie. I have much less respect for "adventurers"
