circulates 3 - 4million, ie those people actually buy the thing and it is estimated that an average of 3 people actually read each copy. so we are lookinig at 9 - 12 million Sun readers. So why are the Liberal/lefty illuminati types contect th write off a 5th of the population as "Knuckle draggers" and other derogatory terms? Why are they so vitriolic towards those who do not share their flawed idiology?

How many of those readers do you think get their political views from the Sun?

For the record I don't actually buy it but I do read it if here is one lying about.

By definition, R1G, around a half - never mind 1/5 - of the population is of below average IQ. It's nothing to do with ideology and everything to do with intelligence.

well I wasn't asking if the sun changing sides will affect the result was I?
It is important because the Sun follows the popular mood, so if the Sun has decided the popular mood is to ditch Labour, then they are probably right.

I don't think the Sun is that influential as to deliver tons of votes to the Conservatives that they would not get anyway.

Unlike say the Daily Mail which will never support Labour, the Sun is the floating voter of Fleet Street. If the Sun is changing sides, then it is following the national trend rather than setting it.

They usually claim "it was the Sun wot won it", but that is a boast without any truth.
R1 And here are the liberal lefties out in their fore. They cant see the wood for the trees. Perhaps apply the math to the Guardian readership that would be interesting, anyone got a calc with decimal places ?

Just out of interest, what has below average IQ got to do with it? Are you one of those intellectuals that sit in coffee shops chattering about nothing ? Sounds like it.

Any why do you accuse all Sun readers of being thick? I read it am I thick? R1 reads it are you calling him thick? Might I suggest to you Sir that you are the one blinkered and perhaps lacking in intelligence so much that you accept a flawed ideology without question

Well I think in the case of 1992, the "If Kinnock wins will the last person turn out the light" headline didn't help Labour but I reckon old Kinnochio's victory rally the night before the election is what made the floating voters heave up and vote for the grey man. What a plonker, Major must have thought it was his birthday!

The illumati are a supposed right wing group of mythical proportions.
I don't feel that many people in the north and in Wales will be swayed by the paper.
This recession is being felt more keenly in the south than the north.
I actually think that if The Sun constantly goes on to attack Brown, it'll turn voters to Labour.
I wouldn't trust the Tories as far as I could throw a bear by its balls, they say they've changed.
Bollocks, same old Tories same old tat.

> and it is estimated that an average of 3 people actually read each copy.

READ each copy, or skim through it looking at the topless girl on page 3, and the latest racing news.

I am not sure many people actually READ it.

Zac asks about the percentage of readers of The SUN that vote - I'd be more concerned about the percentage of Sun readers who can actually manage to know what's written adjacent to the box they are putting their cross in.
