Has any one a dog that does not wag it\'s tail very much.. i rescued a Chi he is 10 years old very fit & fits in with my life extreamly well, i could not have got a better dog, but he only wags his tail when very excited like when i have left him to go out shopping & i come back home he then goes potty runs around cries and wags his tail, or when he meets my grandkids they love him to bits, but other than that he never wags his tail.. even when he sees his lead he loves to go out for a walk he gets excited but he even then never wags it.. I have had dogs in my house for over 30 years but all my dogs wag there tails.. does any 1 no why he doesn\'t..Is it a chi thing...

Your chi isn't incapable of wagging his tail, he's just not bothered to do it very much. One finds litter sisters and litter brothers who vary like that, just as with other traits One pup is the over-eater, one is the naturally slim one, one goes scatty at many things, wagging his tail so hard it might drop off , another doesn't and so on. Your chi may have a litter brother somewhere who's wagging his tail at everything and anything ! That yours is a rescue dog almost certainly doesn't make any difference in this..It's not as though he's showing some trait which could only be the result of bad experiences, such as being jumpy or cowering. He's just not that demonstrative.
