OMG...you have just reminded me. I had a Wurlitzer in the cellar....I wonder has my Ex recked it..!!
did it rise up through your fron room floor ummmm? There's one in Blackpool at the tower ballroom
Our nearest WWurlitzer is in Rye College(6 miles from us),they bought it some years back from the( then soon to demolished) Palace Theatre in Tottenham.
For many years it was at the back of the school asembly hall, making it a bit difficult to see as the pupils had their backs to it.
Last year (I think) the EU awarded a grant, and now the organ is under the school stage on a lift, and rises majestically to stage level.
In the season proffesional organists give recitals on it once a month,at the grand cost of £5.00 per person.
Have a look here for more information:~

It does make a grand and ispiring sound, and now is safe for all time.
Apologies,it has risen to £7.00.
So expensive! LOL
No Dot....my cellar doesn't have a moving floor I'm afraid....
Aww the earth doesn't move for ummmm !
It will if I make the effort Mr V :-)

So NO....lol (joking)
Does anyone know of a man who has a 'Ruth' organ mounted on a lorry. I saw this once at an event in Aberdeen. It was a fairground steam organ that had been converted to compressed air. This man took it round various shows and events etc. It was card operated and had many additions: cymbals etc

There is a Compton theatre organ at Gunton Hall holiday resort near Lowestoft, it was originally at a theatre in Grays in Essex where it was flooded, rescued ,and brought to Lowestoft. I think it took 5 years to install to its former glory..world renowned organists came to Gunton Hall to perform concerts....Nostalgia !! Ever been to Gunton Hall on holiday?x
