Dogs!
Not sure where to put this question, so I'll start on here! My neighbour has three dogs. None of them are trained. They are left in the house from around 8am to 4.30pm 4 days a week. They bark and howl most of the time and it's getting on my nerves! I can't work due to ill-health so I am in most of the time. I am friendly with my neighbour but when I mention that the dogs have been barking most of the day, she just laughs! What can I do? If I report her she will know it's me and I don't like confrontation.

I have a similar problem except my neighbour only has one dog(a very large German Shepherd). We now no longer speak to each other after I confronted her about the infernal racket it makes whenever she is out.
You have no choice than to report your neighbour to the council environmental health department where you live Kathyan, the problem will never be solved otherwise..............not that it definitely will be with the council's help...my problem is still ongoing after nearly 4 years :-(

Kathyan I think you should have another word with your neighbour. Say you are not well and the dogs continual barking is intolerable, (you might want to ask other neighbours as well?, get them on your side) and say that perhaps between you, you can come to a solution. If she takes offence and dosen't want to know, at least you have tried and then speak to RSPCA, if they don't want to know and they may not because if they are being fed and watered and looked after they probably won't. But you could try taping the noise and taking it to the council health department, I have known some councils to come and tape the noise themselves and ask the people to sort it. You can but try. Good luck
We live at the end of a cul de sac but there is a road along the side of their house (our house is joined on to theirs) We are the only neighbours apart from over the road. Our neighbours on the other side back on to the side of our house, if that makes sense! So we are the only ones who would hear the dogs and she would know it was me if I reported her.
Funny you should say that Kathyan....our neighbours are end terrace, they have no other neighbours apart from us and when I asked her if she could keep her dog from barking she said her dog doesn't bark when she is out (how the hell would she know that) and that no other neighbours had complained......erm,thats because she doesn't have any other neighbours.lol
