Accidental duplicate order
4 Answers
I ordered this thing online a few weeks ago, it cost £34.99
It came in good time, and the money was taken from my account.
About a week later, the same item got delivered, I hadn't ordered two. So I called the company, and the guy assured me that I did not order two, and only £34.99 was taken from my account, and that a mistake must have been made. He asked if I could sent it back, and he'd handle the postage costs.
Now then, am I legally required to send it back, because if I hadn't told him, he wouldn't have known. So what if I just, don't... He might forget, and that'll be that. Or am I getting myself into a tricky situation.
Thanks.

Yes, they might forget, but you're still commiting theft so why take the chance.
Incidentilly, now you couldn't really argue that you'd simply forgot as with this post you are showing a possible intent to commit theft.
