why am I not getting email notifications

I'm not getting email notifications of my own threads and for those i subscribe to, whats happening ?

Sadly,the lack of these notifications are some of the casualties of the botched application of the "NEW" AB,they are promised to be reinstated by AB Ed,but I wouldn't hold your breath.

I'm glad they stopped.

If I forgot to cancel them my inbox would overflow with e mails.

Panicbutton, have you not ever asked a question and then had to go back wading through the site to find it again and see if there are answers ? wioth the new profile page its a bit easier but still a problem. i can't see why you have lots of emails as by default you only get notifications of questions you ask, the notification of replies to other questions you replied to as well is optional, the function was setup at my suggestion infact when i wrote to the editor and told him/her how lovely it would be to be able to mark a topic for notifications as I was still interested in keeping an eye on the topic. sadly as mr veritas says the AB is rather slow at implementing things and correcting problems, personally i don't know why they don't just use a proper php forum software rather than reinvent the wheel, the AB have VERY limited functionality compared to many other similar sites and any "new" thing takes months if not years to appear but has been mainstrean on other sites for years. The quality of members though is exellent (apart from a few headcases) and generaly not found elsewhere
