my auto fill has gone and my little wrench i am on vista and internet explorer 8 cheers

Try this (no guarantee of success!):
1. Click Tools (upper right, between Safety and Question Mark)
2. On dropdown menu, click Toolbars.
3. On dropdown menu, make sure Google Toolbar has a tick next to it.
