childrens schooling
My neice has been waiting almost 3 weeks to get her children back into school.
She has been in a womens refuge for 9 months and has recently moved back home,Schools are saying they cant accept them back on role until they receive paperwork from the last authority she had the children attending. Is there any legislation regarding education as I am to attend a case conference with her on Friday Thanks in advance for any advice

You could try this site - I have seen it on lots of different sites

Also, when we moved to a new area we saw the school on a Monday and our son started the following day - they can't possibiliy have received any paperwork from the last authority that quickly. As a former teacher I would say that schools can be quite unhelpful when they choose to be. Be prepared and show them that you know your stuff, be confident and stand up for yourself. Hope it all goes OK
