do a search and track down a cortina owners site, ask questions of people that have a specific interest. i thought the mk4/5 cortinas were pretty good in their day, owned a couple of 2.0litres nice unassuming cars that went really quickly! got me all misty eyed now....
problem is that its not so much a fact of how nice the car was and handled, but the fact it is so old that it is devalued now and more than likely harder to get parts that are obselete. people just wont pay for that unless they are a fantatic, for what most people need it for and thats a car to runaround in! The only thing making this car of any value at all to the average person is the fact that it has a 12 month MOT which will up your price by a couple hundred quid. to give u some example, i bought a P reg peugeout 406 with air conditioning and 6 month MOT for 500 so why pay any more for a car that is more than 2 decades old and is not yet classed as a classic car as such due to the fact that a cortina was a mass produced car and also not really old enough yet to be classed as extremely rare.like i said before, if u try specialists such as a cortina fan club and it is in excellent condition u could maybe add an extra 0 to that 200 price tag.
