A school was demolished about a year ago but the yellow zig-zag lines are still in place on the road where the school used to be. Nothing else has been built in its place.
I thought the council would paint over the lines. They haven't as yet. Do I risk getting a parking ticket if I park on them - even though the school has been demolished?
Stupidly - yes.
If the lines are there they are still lawfully in operation.
It depends on the discretion of the traffic warden/police officer in the area however and they *might* agree with you that there is no offence commited.
Thanks very much, Iggle Piggle. That's what I thought the answer would be.
BTW, sorry for the delay in acknowledging your post. I only noticed it last night, then for some reason, I seemed to be banned - I posted replies to several threads but none of them showed up. {:o(
