My Mum was bitten by a centipede in Arizona, it was about 4 inches long, and it gave her a viral infection that attacked her white bood cells and she died 9 months later.

Some have more, some have less than 100. In 1999, one was discovered with ninety-six legs. It's unique because it's the only species with an even number of pairs of legs. All other species of Centipede have an odd number, anything between 15 and 191 pairs.

Expect this sort of answer from someone who has the QI Book of General Ignorance/QI Book of Animal Ignorance.

I think it's actually an odd number of legs they have isn't it? I know they have a pair of legs on each bit of their body so I don't know if that's a set amount. But I'm sure I read something about odd numbers....
