Hi,is there anybody out there you can give me a definitive answer,as I get a different one everywhere I look,which team is older,the green bay packers or the chicago bears,the packers were formed on aug 14th 1919,but it seems the bears have a more confusing history having morphed from the staleys and the cardinals,im a packer fan and my brother is a bear,I really need closure on this as its causing a lot of heated debate...pleease help !!!!

George Halas founded Decatur Staley in 1920.On 17th September 1920 George Halas met representatives of 12 other clubs at Ralph Hays Hupmobile in Canton...

On 28th January 1922 The Decatur Staley franchise was renamed The Chicago Bears

Google nfl. From the home page click on team icon to open Packers home page-hover over 'history' move down and click 'chronology'.
The Bears dont use the word chronology so from their home page click 'Tradition' then 'History by Decades'.
