Is this a hardware or software problem?
Every time I try to launch an application ( including starting up) I get a dialogue box appear. On the top border is the name of the .exe file - bad image.
The body of the dialogue box has the same message every time:-
C:|PROGRA-1\Google\GOOGLE-2\GGOE62-1-DLL is either not to run on Windows or contains an error
Reinstall using original media..
What is the best way uot of this (Big hammer comes to mind) but maybe another way

From the advice through a Google search, the best starting point is to uninstall anything Google related. So if you have Google Chrome, Earth or Picasa or anything like that, uninstall it. Also, make sure nothing Google related (like Google Update) is running in the background. Do this by going to Start > Run and type "msconfig" to bring up the configuration tool. In the "Services" and "Startup" tabs, make sure anything Google related is unchecked. Save the changes and reboot your machine. See if the error still occurs.
