New Fridge
5 Answers
I recently had a new fridge installed and was given conflicting advice about how long to wait before switiching it on. Engineer who installed it advised waiting 6 hours, but the manual stated 8 hours.
I switched on after waiting 6 hours. It has now been running for 48 hours and it is very noisy and rattly, although it is doing it's job. The freezer section temperature is below zero and the temperature in the fridge compartment is OK. But it continues to be very noisy. I have tow questions, are new fridges normally very noisy, or could I have damaged it by switching on too soon.

firstly check its leveled properly on the floor it's standing on then leave it a little longer, if it's still noisy try turning it off for 24hrs (yeah I know, not convenient really!) and then on again, if it's still noisy then claim it's faulty and get a replacement.
as for towing, 75% of the fridges weight would be the recommended maximum towing weight for it!
