Pomeranian toy poodle cross...
7 Answers
Anyone had one of these dogs?
I've been looking after my friends and she just told me she is going to re home him. I want to read up or find out about them before I take him on.
He's about 4 or 5 months old and has a lively temperament at the moment but he's not house trained. So would that be his age or the owner?

Any dog should be able to be housetrained by that age, and it sounds as thought the owner has not done anything about it. He does sound a cute mix though, and I bet you won't be able to part with him!
Cheers Ian...
He went back to his owner today as we have work on the house being done starting tomorrow and the garden will be out of action.
I don't think she bothers with him much and she has a young daughter that abuses him a bit. Plus she has no money...so if she can wait a week or two I'll take him.
How do I house train a dog? Never done it before....he just randomly wee's on the floor...and no 2's

Sorry ummmm don't know about house training as mine have always been house trained when I got them, and definitely should be at his age. I think you're friend hasn't bothered. Just had to say though that really does sound like it would be a really cute dog going by the breeds. Don't think I'd be able to resist. My last dog was a bichon.
Best way to house train is to take them out as often as possible and stay with them till they have done something, then do the silly 'oh you're such a good boy' dance round the garden with them. Really go over the top with praise. They will soon get the message. You need to let them out as soon as they wake up, when they have been playing for a while and several other times during the day and of course last thing at night. Don't shove them out on their own and expect them to perform. They will only be interested in getting back to you. As to the leaving him, do it for a few minutes at a time and leave him with something to chew on or play with, then be very calm on your return, not making a big thing of it.
