Hello pericat , and Morecowbell ,than you for your help . I have tried a moisturising cream but it just get washed off , or should I say dribbled off , too quickly . I may get my carer to get some of that Palmerss Cocoa butter cream , it may at least smell nice even if it doesn't stay on long . xxxxx

Best thing would be a cream called Diprobase, which is used in hospitals as a barrier cream and you can use it for washing. No perfume so no nasty reactions. You can buy it at Boots either in a tube or a larger pot. Excellent stuff. I wouldn't be without it. I get it on repeat prescription, and I am sure if you mention it to your GP he will prescribe it for you.

Very, very safe for using on the face.

I smelt like a bar of sickly sweet chocolate when I bought that Palmers Cocoa Butter. I threw it away. Personally I would neve use it on my face, but don't let that dissuade you

hi bigmamma,
how about getting a little tub of sudocrem to try?
i find it very good for rough dry sore areas, mums use it on their babies bottoms dont they when they get sore nappy rash.
it probably wouldnt be very suitable if you were going out in public because its white in colour, unless you really rub it in, then itd probably be ok, but when youre there at home, well just liberally apply it, im sure itd help.
its a thick healing cream and i dont think it would easily wash away.

Thank you LoftyLottie , and Looopylooo , I will definately try that Diprobase cream and , as you say , my gp might script it for me . xxxx
Hello mamma...how are you hun??
I get a very sore dry chin sometimes from wool jumpers and scarves. I use aqueous cream and/or E45. I also use the E45 Emolliant wash...it leaves a film on the skin to moisturise.
I am sure the Diprobase is your best bet.....my suggestions are for in the meantime until you get a perscription.
