hedgehog flea's
4 Answers
is it common for hedgehogs to have a lot of flea's? my dog picked one up in the garden last night and is now absolutely infested, she, and her bed has had to be fumigated and also my chair and the rug, she only had the thing for about 10 minutes, she didn't hurt it but rolled it about and barked at it, it must have been the local bug factory.

They would say that, wouldn't they ? LOL Not much consolation, if you don't like any fleas in your house. The flea which is commonest on dogs is, strangely, the cat flea, so keep an eye on visiting moggies ! The hedgehog flea and the dog flea are different species of flea, Archaeopsylla for the hedgehog and Ctenocephalides for the dog and cat. The cat and dog flea are of different sub-species.
