Sapphire (My 15 week old Staffordshire Bull Terrier) has been lately getting a lot of sleep by her left eye. It's a yellow colour and very gooey! Whenever I wipe it off, more comes on ten minutes later! I've never had a puppy before so I am a little worried. You don't think she has like a eye infection, does she?
I might just be getting worried over nothing, which wouldn't be the first time but its best to know anyway.

Sounds like conjunctivitis, a trip to the vet for some antibiotic ointment should cure it.

Thanks lankeela, after doing some extensive research on the computer I have decided I will definately book her in at the vets for a check up.

There are of course two eye problems that Staffs can suffer from, Hereditary Cataract and PHPV, although I don't believe a yellowy discharge is a symptom of either. Has she been DNA tested for either of these, or have her parents? This should be done before you buy a Staff puppy, and certainly before you consider breeding from her, as she can pass on the conditions to any puppies.

We recently took her to the vets. It turns out she has got a case of Conjunctivitis. But no worries, the vet has supplied us with a cream which she should cure it! :)
