Further to my question a little way down the line "Which Printer?" -- do I need to buy a USB Cable when I get my new printer? I have a printer at the moment (which is going to be discarded) however it has a cable to connect it to the PC. Will this one be OK?

yes, keep your original usb cable, it will be fine.

If the plug is a large recangularish with lots of pins then this is the old parralell type so you need to buy a usb. A Usb plug is a small flattish thing about the width of a finger.
