A Fridge too cold - freezes everything!?

I'm looking for some help in that the Proline (TFP 235 A) fridge we have is consistently too cold. Regardless of how we change the thermostat (1=least cold, 5=most cold) it often freezes items in the fridge and up to 5 cm of ice/frost collates on the back panel.

There is a small freezer compartment above and that freezes well - almost too well, ice cream is rock solid.

Any ideas how we could fix this?

Thanks!

Sounds like you need a new thermostat.
Are you sure that the door to the freezer section fits properly and that you always close it. I once didn't shut mine and didn't notice until I found things freezing in the main section.
