There are far too many FPS (based around miltary combat/alien invasion) in the games market, and sports games around...
Frankley these games are repetitive and loosing their appeal..where are all the good games gone....????
for example - survival horros, fantasy/adventure, fighting, racing, - there are a few but very few and far between and most which do come out are pants,
I suppose its a case of 'all the best ideas have gone' It'd be very hard to come up with a genuinely innovative, unique and ground breaking game in this day and age.
I agree that games these days tend to focus on cutting edge graphics based on tired and overdone genres.
For the future I see the way we play games being pushed further. Control systems such a Wii, Guitar Hero etc etc are offering the player more realistic physical controls over their gaming world. 'Putting yourself in the game' seems to be where the developers are focusing their attention.
Modern warfare will be the one, apparently...........according to my two sons...... and have pre-ordered it for £2 at Blockies to ensure they get it on release date..........:0)
I dont play that often.....................my two sons do.........a lot, and onloine with loads of their friends.......they have PS3's.
wolfman999.....sorry, as i gave out another war orientated game title...................marvel alliance 2 is'nt bad at all and better than the first one.
I'd like an application where you could create your own games ala "The Games Factory" coming out on the wii, psp etc...Lots of people have ideas and creative minds but not quite the tecnnical know-how to create a game. Games do not have to have fancy graphics just addictive playability.
Beyond Good and Evil 2... on the horizon? I wouldn't bet your pocket money on that. Ubisoft keeps getting cold feet on it. Only official video is 18 months old, and last info about it from August this year suggests the development is on hold. I'm not holding my breath!
