Descaling a steam generator iron

Hi.  Anybody know the best way to de scale a steam generator iron?  I've had my Tefal Steam Generator about 2 years now and I get bits of limescale shooting out with the steam and some of the steam holes seem to be blocked.  It's supposed to have an anti-scale device in it but despite that it's still getting scaled up.  Any ideas?  Thanks.

Use an iron descaler solution and once sorted use de-ionised water in the iron.
