Squad - don't be so horrible. I thought what vibra said was lovely and genuinely sentimental. It means a lot to some men, less to others, and absolutely nothing to some. But don't mock those dads who were there and got a lot out of the experience. Bonding is not to be scoffed at.
When both our daughters were born, back in the mid/late 60's, my husband was with me whilst I was in labour, but when it was time to give birth, he was asked to go outside until they were delivered!
They were spontaneous births with no stitches or complications, but husbands were not allowed to attend the actual births in that hospital, at that time.
It didn't particularly bother me, or him, as we both soon bonded with our precious babies.
