I am not very well up on computers I only know the basics but the other day I was trying to save a picture from a website, normally I would just right click on it and you get the option ''Save picture as'' but
this didn't happen then I was told some sites will not let you save pictures off of them but a way around this is to simply hit the print screen key and print out what you are looking at, I have tried this key but no matter what I do this key does nothing so what am I doing wrong and how do I get it to work??

Your print screen key does actually work. It just doesn't look as if it does. To print out what you see on the screen:
1. Press Print Screen key.
2. Click Start (bottom left-hand corner of screen).
3. Click All Programs.
4. Click Accessories.
5. Click Paint.
6. Click Edit (top of screen).
7. Click Paste on drop-down menu.
8. Your screen image should appear.
9. Click File.
10. Click Print on drop-down menu to send image to printer.
I've just thought of another way in which you can save and print a screen image (or part of the screen). This is handy if you don't want all the screen, but just a part of it.
1. Click Start button.
2. Click All Programs.
3. Click Accessories.
4. Click Snipping Tool.
5. After a second or two, Snipping Tool dialogue box appears on screen.
6. Move mouse arrow to top left-hand part of picture that you want to save.
7. Left click and hold it. A cross-shaped cursor appears.
8. Move your mouse so that the cross-shaped cursor marks out a rectangle around your chosen picture.
You are, in effect, "cutting out" the picture.
9. When you have fully gone around your picture, release the mouse button and wait.
10. Your picture appears, but enclosed by a frame, at the top of which you see "File".
11. Click File and then click Save As on the drop-down menu.
12. Give the picture a name, and it goes to your Photo Gallery or Pictures file.
hit the print screen button , then open a word document and right click the mouse then paste...then you can either print or save....job done...i have been messing around with PCs for years and its only recently i found this out...

And thanx to you also Chas 2008 all this info in one day !! -- Now if I could just find out how to get rid of
that awful ''JELLY MEN'' avatar and put my own in I will be a very happy man...

Your second answer sounds even better Bookbinder but I've looked and don't appear to have a ''snipping'' tool
I am running win XP so perhaps it's not on here..
As regards the Snipping Tool, sprayer, I have Microsoft Works (and Vista Home Premium), so maybe that would account for you not, apparently, having Snipping Tool. Shame really, it can be quite handy. Anyway, best of luck and I'll visit here occasionally, so, if I can help again, I certainly will do so.

Thanx again Bookbinder, I have now found in paint that I can just highlight the photo and copy just that bit without
the rest of the page, so cheers I'm at last getting somewhere..
Glad to have been of some help. Best of luck.
I have Firefox running on XP so mine is slightly different - Print Screen key, Start, Programmes, Accessories, Paint, Edit, no Paste but Select All, File, Print Review and Print.
why not try a program, im using a program called pchand screen capture.
the prntscr key only help u capture the full screen or the active window. but this program could help u capture anything on ur screen.
