Tablet stuck in throat/around upper chest
4 Answers
Hi,
I think I've got a tablet stuck in my throat, around the upper chest. I had a gelatine capsule (DulcoEase stool softener - which contains docusate sodium I just found out). I took it about 3 hours ago with water, but obviously not enough and they are a slightly awkward shape. I've just been eating some bread, tried a banana, drinking lots of water and having a hot drink to try and disslodge/dissolve the capsule. It's an uncomfortable feeling and it's moved down my throat since I tried these things, but feels like it's in the left side of my upper chest. I get a burning feeling when I swallow and it's just uncomfortable really. Trying not to worry about it, but should I get a doctor/see my local pharmacy to check it out? I don't know if the tablet I took will cause damage to my throat. And I don't know when the feeling that the tablet is there will disappear? Thank you for any advice.

I think I'll wait to see how I feel today and then if it's still a problem, see the docs tomorrow. Like Daffy said, it probably dissolved in my throat when I was asleep so maybe it's aggrivated my throat.
