I'm beginning to hate muslims.
On TV I've just watched an English Muslim convert refusing to condemn ' his Muslim Brothers' for attempting to kill innocent women and children. I know it is wrong, but I am beginning to feel hatred towards Muslims.because I feel personally threatened Please tell me something to counteract this growing feeling of hatred.

But that doesnt mean that the average people should not feel engaged I suppose afterall, the UK is not made up of "POLITISIZED ACADEMICS". But I have no idea who can sort out our issues. i know its cliched to say it but politicians are generally all the same. The whole institution is open about how it is set up to confuse you and placate people who want answers to difficult questions using spin. Take Iraq, we all knew is was not justified. If we are to help Police the world then why stop there? Lets go and kick Robert Mugabes ass, Invade north Korea, go and show the Chinese the meaning of Human Rights, Stop child labour in the far east, Sort out the Dyer poverty caused by Thieving Governments in Africa who dont let their popululation share in their countries wealth and so on.
For me, I can see public opinion turning on this issue, the collective consciousness of well intentioned citizens is being sturred and this is slowly being addressed by our politicians from all the main parties who know that this is becoming a serious issue. I spose Im a conservative but I do like John Reid and think he is a good one for issues like this. What will be will be ..........

It's sickening to see the narrow-mindedness on display by the most recent posters here, but predictable. In your blinkeredness, you fail - or refuse - to acknowledge that it's militant islamists you're talking about, not muslims generally, yet this is a very convenient excuse for you to exercise your in-built prejudices by using it as a justification for "hating muslims". None of you seem to have the slightest concern over how insulting that is to the huge majority of Muslims who quietly live their lives in peace and harmony with their non-muslim neighbours.
To suggest that because I was disagreeing with that Princess idiot means I support the terrorist activities of islamists is beyond lame, and shows the 2+2=5 thought process of a very dim person. Of course I don't, you morons. And of course I detest any muslim who openly makes supportive remarks about or advocates terrorism. But here's the difference - I can recognise that those scum are non-representative of most muslims, a connection most of you seem unable, unequipped and unwilling to make. Indeed, I strongly suspect that most of you DO revel in those attacks, seeing as it appears to have given you licence to vent forth your foul prejudices against ALL muslims.
By the way Princess, I must admit you did give me a good laugh with your remark about being braver and more intelligent.

Listen, its obvious that when talking about subjects like this it is easy to generalise and usually ignorantly. I however speak from personal experience! I have worked with Muslims, Had close relationships with them, Been best of friends with them and had keen debates with them. I absolutely agree that many/lots of them share qualities that are present in any community, they can be loving, caring, honest, dishonest, nice, nasty, etc they are afterall human + it is obvious that the media is trying to demonise them but I KNOW that most share if not a "sympathy" then an "understanding" of why there is a state of Jihad across many parts of their community and why some of their brothers are killing innocents. There is also a chilling feeling I get when I hear their own ignorances about our community, and many comments they make as you befriend them and they drop their guard (I mean when friends share private thoughts) and say things to you that might be considered funny by them - Certain blasphemic comments about Christ and how silly we are when we sing Hymns in Church. Equally some of them make comments about Jesus being one of their profits and fasting+Lent, etc
Im not religious myself so I just laugh/talk along but am still left feeling uncomfortable!
Its obvious that there are exceptions to the generalities! Many many exceptions. There will always be the person who cries out in condemnation of Bigoted and prejudiced ways, Thinking they are speaking for the cause of what is Right! i sometimes feel that way too! But I do think that we should be careful and encourage debate, engage our exisiting communities etc.
